Sarah Sharp

Sarah Sharp, upon her death in 1797, left a plot of land incorporating two cottages and various outbuildings next to Broad Street, near the Market Place in Harlow, to her two nephews, James and Joseph Mumford.  One of the outbuildings, a barn, had been used earlier in the eighteenth century as a meetinghouse for the Dissenting congregation that eventually settled at Fore Street. Most likely Sarah Sharp, like the Mumfords, attended one of the Baptist congregations in Harlow.
