Thomas Conder

Thomas Conder (1746?-1831) of 30 Bucklersbury, London, was the leading printer and seller of sermons by Independent ministers between 1790 and 1814. Conder also published and sold works by James Dore, Olinthus Gregory, and Benjamin Flower. Conder subscribed to the Congregational Society in London for Spreading the Gospel in England in 1798 and 1799, along with Flower’s uncle, William Fuller, and Eliza’s acquaintance from Maze Pond, Mrs. Henry Keene (Report of the Committee, 18-19). His son, Josiah Conder (1789-1855), took over the business in 1814 and gained considerable recognition for his work as editor of the Eclectic Review (1814-37) and The Patriot (1832-55).
