John Parker

John Parker (1725-1793) was converted under the preaching of William Grimshaw of Haworth. Parker spent several years as a teaching elder of the church at Barnoldswick under Alvery Jackson. Upon Jackson’s death in 1763, Parker succeeded him as pastor, remaining at Barnoldswick until 1790. He removed to Wainsgate, but after one year as minister of the Baptist meeting there, his health failed and he died in 1793.  See Winnard, History, 61-62; Evangelical Magazine 2 (1794), 392-394; J.
