Thomas Porter

Thomas Porter was the afternoon preacher at the Independent congregation at Bury-street, London, from 1759?-64, assisting Dr. Samuel Savage, who ministered there from 1756 to 1787.  Savage was also Divinity chair at Hoxton Academy from 1762-85.  Josiah Thompson, formerly of Unicorn-yard, succeeded Porter as afternoon preacher, and retained that position for several years before his removal to Clapham.
