Joseph Hart [of Cambridge]

Joseph Hart retired from business in 1793. Advertisements in the Intelligencer as early as 1794 reveal that he owned other properties along Bridge Street besides the house Benjamin Flower once shared with Mrs. Jennings (CI 12 April 1794). Hart was the son of Joseph Hart, Sr., who was a member at St. Andrew’s Street from 1766 until his death in 1779.  Joseph, Jr., joined St. Andrew’s Street on 10 April 1767, but withdrew in 1772. Hart was also a friend of John Audley and Edward Randall of Cambridge, the latter a member as well as St. Andrew's Street. See Church Book: St. Andrew’s Street Baptist Church, Cambridge 1720-1832 (London: Baptist Historical Society, 1991), 123; also the Audley Papers, 132/B.63, Cambridgeshire Record Office, Cambridge.
