Benjamin Clough

Benjamin Clough was a Wesleyan missionary in Ceylon for many years. With the assistance of Abraham de Armour, James Chater, and William Tolfrey, Clough produced a Singhalese edition of the New Testament that was issued by the Wesleyan Mission Press in Colombo in 1819. Along with Tolfrey, he published A Compendious Pali Grammar in 1824. Clough also compiled, under the patronage of the government of Ceylon, A Dictionary of the English and Singhalese and Singhalese and English Languages (Colombo, 1821-1830).
