Thomas Horton

Thomas Horton (1796-1877) studied for the ministry at Bristol Academy. Afterwards  Horton preached briefly at Devizes before assuming the pastorate of the Baptist church at Morice Square, Devonport, where he ministered from 1820 to 1850. After his resignation, he remained in Devonport, eventually helping to found Hope Baptist Chapel, which opened in 1855. He retired in 1870.
