Walter Buchanan

Walter Buchanan (1755-1832) was a minister in the Church of Scotland in Glasgow, Sterling, and Edinburgh. He was a friend and correspondent of the evangelical Anglican minister at Cambridge, Charles Simeon, and a promoter of the Christian Knowledge Society in Edinburgh. Buchanan was also the author of a biography of the great Scottish divine, John Witherspoon, and was influential in his role as minister at the Canongate Parish Church in Edinburgh in the immediate aftermath of the conversion of the Haldanes.
