Stamford's women bowlers stretched their lead at the top of the Trudy Bates Lincs League southern section with a comprehensive 30-shot defeat of their nearest rivals from Spalding.
The 12 points they picked up from three winning rinks and an overall 110-90 scoreline puts them clear at the top of the table with 56 points from five matches - 12 ahead of Spalding who have a game in hand.
At one stage Stamford led on all five rinks but the experienced visitors were in no mood to capitulate and captain and former international Gloria Haney's rink fought back from 1-9 behind at one stage to run out 21-16 winners against Sue Moir.
Elsewhere Christine Ford's Stamford rink were well behind at one stage but finally ran out comfortable 29-12 winners, while Joan Robinson's quartet also won well by 14 shots, tipping the balance in Stamford's favour.
