Morton returns for Peterborough Plate tie

Neighbours Peterborough IBC will be Stamford's next opponents in the Denny Plate, following their convincing victory over Grantham last week.

The 'derby rivals' will contest the aggregate score over 21 ends with two rinks at home and two away, played simultaneously at 10 am, scores being exchanged by phone every five ends.

The Stamford side shows two changes from that which beat Grantham. Captain Paul Bailey steps in for Trevor Collins and England international Tristan Morton returns to skip a rink at Stamford alongside Wayne Aspinall, Chris Ballard and James Harford.

Stamford team: Home - Dave Hudson, Mick Linnell, Peter Edwards, Martyn Dolby; Wayne Aspinall, Chris Ballard, James Harford, Tris Morton. Away - Richard Allam, Mick Humphreys, Adam Warrington, Roger Martin; Paul Dalliday, Bob Warters, Paul Bailey Simon Law.

MASONS TROPHY TEAMS

The women's equivalent of the men's Over 60s Double rink - the Masons Trophy - will be played on Friday, December 6 with Stamford entering both an A and B team.

Each will play a rink at home and away simultaneously with the aggregate scores determining whogoes through to the next round.

Teams: Stamford A (v Charnwood B) home - J Brennan, M King, S Suffling, C Ford; away - E Wallace, J Lonslow, S Moir, G Edwards. Stamford B ( v Peterborough or Melton) home - C Barnes, C Gray, P Birch, R March; away - J Want, C Warters, M Broadbelt, D Mackie.
