Draws for club and Lincs county competitions

The draws have been made for Stamford IBC club men's competitions, the finals of which will be played on the weekend of April 14/15.

The men's singles and mixed pairs are already in full swing with respective defending champions Martyn Dolby and father and daughter pairing of Paul and Katie Bailey still looking to retain their titles.

The women's competitions are to be re-drawn.

LINCS COUNTY DRAWS

The draws have been made for the next rounds of the Lincs IBA county competitions in which Stamford bowlers have been qualifying internally in recent weeks.

They are as follows:

Mixed pairs - Sleaford A (R Barnes and partner) v Stamford A (Paul & Katie Bailey), Stamford B (Chris Ford & Martyn Dolby) v Grantham (J Meakins).

Men's pairs - Stamford B (Dave Hudson and Cliff Watson) v Skegness (G Morris), Stamford A (Chris Ballard & Jon Earl) v Stamford C (Mal Smith & J Travis-Jenner).

Men's Triples - Stamford C (M Hebden) v Boston (J West), Sleaford ( T Bannister) v Stamford B (T Mackie), Spalding A (M Orrey) v Stamford A (M Ramsden).

Men's Rinks - Boston A (J West) v Stamford B (P Bailey), Grantham A (J Lewis) v Stamford A (R Allam).

All matches to be played by February 11.

THIRD WIN FOR STAMFORD WOMEN

The Lincolnshire Women's (Trudy Bates) A League title chase is hotting up after Stamford ended Spalding's unbeaten run at the top of the southern section league with a 105-83 victory.

Picking up 12 of the 16 points available Stamford now set the pace with 46 points from four matches but now face difficult away trips to Sleaford and Skegness.

Janet Lonslow, Stella Henshaw, Shirley Suffling and Christine Ford led the way with an emphatic 31-12 over Gill Needham while there were other wins for rinks skipped by Rose March and Joan Robinson.
