Throughout the winter and spring months, the social committee, has been developing a programme of quality social events to stimulate our members and their guests.

The season kicks off with an all-star cabaret night on Saturday, October 15 with 'Britain's Got Talent' finalist Andy Leach, a comic, magician and all-round entertainer, who will also be joined by two of his singing duo friends Ian and Michelle.

Andy entertained the Queen and Prince Philip at the Royal Command Performance to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and combines gags with crazy magic and mayhem in his hilarious one man show. His act also caught the eye of Sir Paul McCartney, who invited him to appear at his family's Christmas Party.

Tickets for Sixties and 70s group The Skyliners are already in much demand when they return by popular request on November 8 and will be available shortly. And after a New Year's Eve party night, Country and Western duo Jonny and Lynette will be the feature act on January 28.

The pair were voted best duo by the UK Country and Western awards and come highly recommended.

Formerly with Union Gap and the Fortunes, City-based Graham James will bring his own brand of dance music from that era in on February 28 and with Wrinkle Rock in March and locally-based folk group Pennyless rounding off the season in April, the club will be bouncing with music and humour for the next few months.
