Boost to Recruitment

A campaign on social media proved a crucial factor in Stamford Indoor Bowls Club’s latest recruitment drive which attracted almost 50 people to try bowls at its open day on Saturday.

Commented one newcomer : “What a great facility you have in Stamford - a six rink green, restaurant and bar and a really friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed the session and trying a sport which I have only previously seen on TV.

“ I shall definitely be back to join in the coaching on Saturday mornings.”

Though the club had in the past relied on word of mouth, leaflet drops and publicity, it was a late decision to push promotion on social media that attracted the best responses with some travelling from as far as Chatteris to take part.

So keen were several visitors to proceed with the sport that they joined the club on the spot.
