New teams needed when leagues re-start in January

While the current indoor leagues ( played until late December) are going well, the club plans to re-start them, hopefully with additional teams, in January.

This will also enable new or former bowlers to join current teams or to start new ones. League secretary John Holroyd is specifically looking to expand leagues on Sunday morning (pairs), Tuesday evening (open triples), Thursday afternoon (men's triples), Thursday evening ( open triples), Friday afternoon (open triples) and Friday evening(men's triples).

He is also hoping the women's Tuesday afternoon triples league can be re-formed and the club is inviting bowlers interested in potentially forming new teams to register at a special gathering on Tuesday, November 10 (2pm). It will be an important step in involving more women in bowls. BW

FOOTNOTE: The Happy Bowls Catering Company is now open at Stamford IBC for table service, including breakfast and tea and coffee from 9am (Monday to Saturday) for booked lunches subject to demand. Sunday lunches can also be pre-booked.
