Lincs IBA Under 25 appeal, singles draws & rules

Names of those contesting the Lincs County Under 25 Singles hosted by Stamford IBC on February 23 are now being requested to help local organisers with their planning and the number of markers required.

Matches will be played to a sets format of seven ends with a best of three tie break deciding the winners.

Entry costs just £1 on the day, payable at registration at 11.30am. First matches are scheduled for 12 noon. If you haven't already, please contact Bob Warters (01780 721411).

TOUGH TESTS FOR OVER 60s ENTRIES

Twice a winner of the county Over 60 singles, Martyn Dolby - one of five Stamford qualifiers - has been matched over 18 ends against George Draper (Lincoln) in the round of the last 16 at Boston IBC on February 16.

The draw involving Stamford players is: 12 noon - Cliff Watson v Paul Flatters (Boston), John Pearson v Trevor Bannister (Sleaford), Tony Barwell v Norman Burton (Horncastle). 2pm: Derek King v John Withers (Lincoln), Martyn Dolby v George Draper (Lincoln).

Men's singles (Saturday, Feb 8 at Grantham): 9am - Chris Ballard v Graham Esberger (Lincoln), Kevin Ekins v John Holroyd, Owen Aspinall v Keith Tointon (Boston); 11.30 - Adam Warrington v G Draper (Lincoln).

PAIRS, TRIPLES AND FOURS RULES UPDATED

Players competing in knock out rounds of Lincs IBA competitions are reminded that matches in the last 16 must be played by February 9 (with dates offered by January 10).

Dates offered must be one midweek (start between 6.30 and 7pm) and one weekend (not before 10 am). Other start times only by mutual consent.

If the challenger does not offer dates within the required time period, the opponent becomes the challenger and shall offer dates as above at their own club. When dates are offered, arrangements must be confirmed within 48 hours.

Re-spots are in play, otherwise EIBA rules apply.

Whites or club colours must be worn from the quarter-final stage.

County semi-finals are at Spalding on March 28 at Spalding, the finals at Lincoln on April 19
