Though both home and away rinks - playing simultaneously - did their best they were eventually undone overall by 10 shots.

A 6-count on the 16th end of their Lincs IBA county triples, helped earn Jeff Pitt, Ian Smith and Chris Ballard a place in the next round.
Against Martin Pulling’s Grantham rink they had edged 13-11 ahead before the big count took them out of reach to win eventually 22-11.
In the pairs Tony Barwell and Jeff Pitt were comfortably beaten by Sam Ashton and George Draper (Lincoln).

With Lincolnshire Leagues scheduled to be re-shuffled next season, Stamford’s mixed team were hoping to make a move to secure promotion to the first division of the mixed league.
However, visitors Boston were in no mood to hamper their own chances and fielded a strong side to secure a convincing 83-65 victory, claiming 12 of the 14 points at stake.
Solitary rink honours for Stamford went to Ron Blake, Val Du’Kett, Sue Moir and Neil Crees 23-11 with a late surge of eight shots in four ends.
