Stamford IBC will stage its £1,650 Nigel Kettle Memorial Open Singles on Saturday (from 6pm) and Sunday (from 8.30am) on October 1 and 2 when world No.1 Nick Brett and former winner Greg Harlow will be taking part.

Defending champion Mark Royal, recently taking a full-time role, alongside Harlow at the Potters Resort, also aims to play together with last year's finalist Andrew Walters, runner-up in the Bowls England outdoor four-bowl singles earlier this month.

Last year's final was one of the most extraordinary ever witnessed when, despite the firing antics of England international Walters, Royal prevailed showing superb drawing skills.

Stamford club players will also test themselves against those who regular play on the national singles circuit and appear in TV events as well as those from other local indoor clubs, including England internationals Graham Smith (Spalding) and Les Gillett (Melton) and 2016 world quarter-finalist Matt Orrey (Spalding).

Reserve entries are still be taken with players chasing £750 for the winner and each losing quarter-finalist receiving £75.
