Yet again Stamford Indoor Bowls Club has confirmed its rating as the most competitive of Lincolnshire IBA's 11 affiliated clubs by topping the league table of competition entries for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Despite Lincoln indoor Bowls Club boasting one of the biggest memberships in the country (around 1300) - more than double that of Stamford - the local club generated at least 110 entries for the seven disciplines, compared to Lincoln's 96, which include three individual events - four-bowl singles, sets singles and Over 60 singles.

Stephen Harris will be defending his four bowl singles which he first won in 2017 but will have to survive a highly competitive qualifying competition at Stamford first, in which six players will go through to the knock out round at Lincoln on February 9.

Six will also qualify domestically at Sleaford on Feb 16 from 24 entries in the sets singles and four will go through to the Over 60s singles at Boston on Feb 17. Stamford bowlers have won that title on three occasions.

The county semi-Finals will be staged at Horncastle on March 30 with the finals at Boston on April 28.
