Qualifiers for the Lincolnshire indoor championships

With 22 places available across six competitions, Stamford bowlers are better represented in the Lincolnshire Indoor Bowling Association quarter-finals than any of the other 11 clubs in the county.

It's a testament to the local bowlers' commitment to competitive bowling that Stamford has earned so many spots against the cream of the county thanks chiefly to the number who entered in the internal play-offs.

Each club was allowed so many places depending on the number who entered at their own club and Stamford came out clearly on top.

Five Stamford players have qualified for the 4-bowl singles play-offs at Lincoln on March 14 - Alan Romaine, Bob Warters, John Holroyd and Dave Hudson - with Keith Rippin and Tony Barwell competing for the final place.

In the Over 65 singles, George Cameron, Peter Banks and Martyn Dolby are already through with two places yet to be decided for the play-offs at Grantham on February 28.

Stephen Harris/Martyn Dolby, Adam Warrington/Keith Rippin and Jay Travis-Jenner/Cliff Watson have qualified in the pairs, while Martin Bailey, Roger Martin and Watson will skip triples in the next round. Stamford will also have representation in the rinks and mixed pairs

The county finals will take place at Sleaford on April 19.
