JANUARY NEWSLETTER
Welcome to all our members who have recently joined SIBC. We hope you will enjoy being part of our Club. If you are unsure of anything please speak to Reception or leave a message for one of the Management Team. Names of the officers along with their photos are displayed to the right hand side of the internal doors.
We are happy to help.
The club is very busy throughout the day and the Management Team are aware that Rink space is often at a premium. When booking Competitions or Roll Ups please respect other members by cancelling any Rinks which you are not going to be able to use. We often find we have Rinks booked but not used and this may result in a charge still being made. We are trying to be as flexible as possible by opening up extra sessions, however this is affected by whether or not we can get Reception cover and someone to lock the club. All our staff are volunteers and therefore we depend on their goodwill.
Please note that the Online bowls booking system for competitions only relates to those competitions that require a double session i.e. all national and federation competitions including singles and the latter stages of LIBA county competitions. If used properly users must provisionally book two separate sets of double sessions provisionally. This is the only way to ensure that the confirm booking facility is available to you. In these cases the bookings will be cancelled automatically after 72 hours unless confirmed!
If only one session is booked provisionally for one or more dates the only option given is to cancel the booking. If only one session is booked as a confirmed game for these any dates not accepted by opponents must be immediately deleted or the rinks will be charged for. In addition if one of these single session competition games is not completed at the end of the session the rink must still be vacated at the end of the session unless it as not been booked for the following session.
DRESS CODE
Believe it or not we do have a Dress Code for all League and Competition Games. This is displayed on our Website, with the Code of Conduct in the Club and on the noticeboard. However this is being widely disregarded by some members who seem to think it doesn’t apply to them! The club may ask a player to leave the green if they are not respecting the Dress Code. We expect all members to respect our Club rules.
