‘A’ team hopes high for visit to Grantham
With two wins already under their belt, Stamford indoor bowls club’s Men’s A team aim to consolidate their lead at the top of the Lincs League southern section, when they visit local rivals Grantham on Saturday.
Confidence is high following the host club’s 62-shot defeat at Spalding and Stamford’s 24 points from home wins against their B team and Boston A.
Stamford, the current county league champions, will also have an eye on selection for the national inter-club Denny Cup competition - two rinks of four bowlers at home and away playing simultaneously - when they again meet Grantham on November 6. Winners play either Spalding or Sleaford two weeks later. Losers will play in the Denny Plate.
