Needing just one point to clinch a first ever Lincs Co-op-sponsored county league division one title for the first time in the club's history, Stamford's mixed team duly roared over the line with an 87-shot defeat of Louth, their nearest rivals.

The 18 points they picked up, albeit against a depleted north Lincolnshire side, took them to an unprecedented 134 points, having won all but two of their 10 fixtures.

Said captain Margaret Bloxham of her team: "You have all done me and the club proud, the way you have all stuck together and made yourselves available for the whole season. It has made my job so much easier."
