AMENDED DRESS CODE TO BRING CLUB INTO LINE WITH EIBA

In order to comply with English Indoor Bowling Association standards, Stamford IBC will introduce a new dress code forthwith, for bowlers playing, marking or umpiring in organised sessions, including domestic leagues and club, county and national competitions.

The edict follows observations and complaints that the dress code for organised matches has become too relaxed, with the appearance of grey or black cargo trousers, leggins and jeans, deemed unacceptable.

However, smart casual clothing is acceptable for roll-ups on spare rinks from 12-2.10 pm sessions (apart from Monday). Whites and club shirts will continue to be worn when representing the club in Lincs county leagues.

The change in the club's dress regulations will allow more colourful shirts to be worn which is an attraction to youngsters to enter the game. It will also allow for the first time indoors shorts to be worn but it should be noted that they must be of the tailored variety.

The full dress regulations can be viewed by clicking on the Bye Laws tab in the footer of this page.
