Home-made cakes stall on Wednesday, January 30

Ladies president Shirley Suffling will be hosting a cakes and pastries stall at Stamford Indoor bowls Club on Wednesday, January 30The stall will help to raise money for the ladies fund which goes towards coach transport for the farthest away matches.Members are invited to provide home-made produce and raffle prizes for the stall which will be run from 10am onwards.

FEDERATION RESULTS

Derek King reached the second round of the Federation Over 65 singles defeating Kevin Vinter 21-7. In the mixed triples, with his wife Margaret and Ally McNaughton, King beat June Brennan, Shirley Suffling and John Little 21-14.

BARWELL WILL MEET SCARR

Tony Barwell will play Tony Scarr in the Area 5 quarter final of the Over 60 singles after beating clubmate Derek King 21-18. He trailed 16-19 when King picked up three shots but kept his nerve with a 2-2-1 finish.

In the national mixed fours Paul Bailey's rink lost to Matt Whyers 23-4.
