Stamford Indoor Bowls club staged its first tournament for juniors aged under 15 as a qualifier for the Lincolnshire IBA semi-finals due to be held at Lincoln on March 8.
Spectators were treated to some high quality bowling, though sadly, none of the young Stamford-based contestants - Olivia White, Annabelle Morris and Freddie Knapp - made it through against competitors from Lincoln, Spalding and Boston.
The qualifiers were Jack and Freddie Hoyles (Boston), Jessica Butters ( Spalding) and Kelsie Fox (Lincoln).

FOOTNOTE: best wishes to Owen Aspinall, who makes his international debut for England in the Under 18 series against Ireland, Scotland and Wales at Cumbernauld IBC on Friday and Saturday. He skips the pairs and rinks, with former Stamford IBC colleague Ollie Jeapes at lead.
