HARFORD EARNS FEDERATION SEMI-FINAL PLACE

James Harford set up a mouthwatering Federation singles semi-final against either Stephen Harris or Martyn Dolby when he beat left-hander Cliff Watson 21-8.

Favouring short jacks and his backhand on rink one, the Parkway right-hander led 12-7 after 11 ends then added nine more in six ends to clinch the match.

Adam Warrington, Jonathan Earl and Martyn Dolby reached the semi-mfinals of the triples by defeating Dave Hudson, John Holroyd and Kevin Vinter in a closely-fought match 22-16, after trailing 0-8 inside three ends. Four shots on the penultimate end proved conclusive.

Despite trailing 12-16 and 15-19, former winner Bob Warters stumbled over the line 21-19 against the persistent accuracy of John Pearson in the Veterans singles.
