Friendly Captain, Denis Stapleton reports:

Making his debut as skip, 16 years old James Hebden led our Weekend Friendly team's demolition of Deeping BA with his rink winning by 27 -5 and claiming the best rink prize. This was the team's best win in over two years with all six rinks winning.

It was especially nice to see relative newcomers Jeff and Jeanette Bourne, Garry Knights, Robin and JuneTaylor and Ron Blake contributing to the success and providing encouragement for those involved in the club's coaching sessions to take their first step into competitive games by way of the Friendlies. Anyone, young or old, male or female who are interested can find out more by contacting our chairman Keith Rippin or Weekend Friendly's captain Denis Stapleton.

Back to the match, the overall score was 133-66 in our favour. But watch out, because in a couple of week's time there is the return match, and you can be sure that the 'Deepinger's will be out for revenge.

The rink scores were (Stamford names only: Jeanette Bourne, Jeff Bourne, Mark Ebden won 27-10; Arthur Chapman, June Taylor, Ron Blake won 19-12; Rosemary Roberts, Stevie Smye, Robin Taylor won 20-17; Betty Sims, Serena Brunning, James Hebden won 27-5; Vanessa Shackleton, Margaret Grainger, Stuart Shackleton won 16-13; Harry Fidon, Garry Knights, Mel DeCamps won 25-9.
