Harris (15) is king of the singles

Queen Eleanor School pupil Stephen Harris bolstered his reputation as one of the county's best young bowlers when he landed the £40 first prize in the Stamford IBC Open singles on Friday, defeating Derek King after a tie-break final.

Twenty-six players entered the event, played in a novel sets format, with Harris battling back to claim a crucial four count in his semi-final with Trevor Christie and King out-gunning Alan Barnes.
