Rune
Rune magic (also known as rún fróðleikr in Old Norse) involves inscribing intricate runes into materials, or even as tattoos onto people's bodies. This enhances them with an ancient magical power. Runes come in many different shapes, forms, and shine different colors when used. As tattoos, this colored shining also can extend to the person's entire body giving them a full-bodied tattoo.
Due to the nature of runes, they're laid out differently than spells. Most a swift action to draw, then a standard to activate. Along with this, runes have different tags based on how they are formed and what they affect. Runes may have tags such as {Weapon}, {Armor}, {Creature}, or {Area}. Area runes are drawn in a larger area than just a simple target or square. These runes are typically used to affect everything in the rune.
Unless otherwise specified, these runes last until the encounter ends.
