Jedi

Classic Jedi serve as peace keepers of the galaxy and seekers of justice. However, this doesn't mean there aren't Dark Jedi who are polar opposites seeking to rule the galaxy through use of the dark side, or Gray Jedi who use the light and the dark.

HP & Defenses

Jedi possess a d10 Hit Die, and they start the game with 50 Hit Points (plus double Constitution and other modifiers). By spending 3 XP the Jedi can gain a Hit Die, increasing their Hit Points accordingly.

They also receive a +1 bonus to Fortitude Defense, Reflex Defense, and Will Defense.

Stat Bonuses

Jedi receive a +1 bonus to one of the following attributes; Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.

Increasing these attributes outside of character creation is done at a discount (10 XP per increase instead of 20 XP)

Attack Bonus

Jedi receive a +2 Attack Bonus.

By spending 5 XP the Jedi can increase their Attack Bonus by +2, to a maximum of +12.

Skill Points

Jedi receive 1 rank in the following skills at character creation;

  • Acrobatics

  • Awareness

  • Knowledge (The Force and History)

  • Persuasion

  • Spellcraft

  • Use Magic Device

The Force

Jedi are Force-based spellcasters who use the mysteries of its potential and power. There is a cost as the Force has two sides similar to divine magic, the light, and the dark. Unlike divine magic though the Force is open for both types of powers, with utilization of the dark side being a temptation for all. Some devote themselves to the light, refusing to use any dark side powers. Others try to find a balance between the two, and finally there are those who use the dark side primarily. Those who devote themselves to the light are typically called Jedi, those who utilize both are typically referred to as Grey Jedi or Jen'saraii, and finally those who use the dark side primarily are referred to as Dark Jedi or Sith depending on their allegiance.

Jedi receive four 1 XP Force spells free at character creation.

All Jedi receive a Dark Side Tracker - the Jedi chooses at character creation where they stand on the tracker. At 0 they receive a +5 to attack and damage with Light Side spells and take a -10 penalty when using Dark Side spells, and at a negative equal to their casting attribute they instead receive this bonus to their Dark Side spells, and penalties to their Light Side spells. Anywhere between 0 and a negative equal to their casting attribute they gain no penalty or bonus to either, and are able to use both freely. Using Dark Side spells reduces their Dark Side Tracker by 1 once per day, meanwhile using a Light Side spell increases their Dark Side Tracker by 1 once per week.

Weapon of the Jedi

All Jedi receive a lightsaber free at character creation. This is either a standard lightsaber or shoto lightsaber, the color is up to the Jedi. Unlike normal, the Jedi are capable of using their Spellcasting for attack rolls with their lightsaber, though when doing this they do not add any attribute to lightsaber damage.
