Prosthesis

When a limb or organ has been lost, it is typically replaced by a prosthetic of some kind.

Price: 1,500 G (200 G, see description) Weight: 5 lbs. (2 lbs., see description)

Description: Characters may lose body parts during particularly brutal encounters. This loss of limbs or organs however isn't entirely bad since characters can recover and treat this, although at the price of a bit of their humanity.

People with a prosthetic limb/organ take a -1 penalty to attack with spells and Spellcraft checks (only when creating magic items, or using Spellcraft checks in order to enhance or otherwise affect a spell.) This penalty is gained per limb/organ replaced.

Instead of the typical prosthetic which is made of metal and serves as a complete replacement a character can instead get a limb which does not invade their humanity yet cannot be manipulated by their mind. This only costs 200 G, weighs only 2 lbs., and doesn't impose a penalty like the one seen above. This is akin to a peg-leg or glass eye. These types of cybernetics can't be modified by hacking.
