Mage

Studying the mysterious of magic and all it has to offer, mages use various energies to command the world around them and create magical effects. Some use arcane magic, others use psychic magic, and some use strange forms of magic that isn't well known.

HP & Defenses

Mages possess a d6 Hit Die, and they start the game with 30 Hit Points (plus double Constitution and other modifiers). By spending 3 XP the Mages can gain a Hit Die, increasing their Hit Points accordingly.

They also receive a +4 bonus to Will Defense.

Stat Bonuses

Mages receive a +1 bonus to one of the following attributes; Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.

Increasing these attributes outside of character creation is done at a discount (10 XP per increase instead of 20 XP)

Attack Bonus

Mages receive a +0 Attack Bonus.

By spending 5 XP the Mages can increase their Attack Bonus by +1, to a maximum of +6.

Mages receive the following starting feats;

Spellcasting

Mages are trained spellcasters, capable of learning different schools of magic and mastering them. They must pick a school of magic (usually Arcane), and receive four 1 XP spells free at character creation.

Spell Knowledge

Mages weave spells together often, specializing in a specific type of magic. Choose a school of magic (such as Arcane of Psychic), and reduce the MP cost of spells of that school by 1 (to a minimum of costing 1 MP).
