Hamon Adept

Warriors who utilize the power of Hamon, this energy is created through controlled breathing and produces holy energy which harms the undead and other unholy beings.

HP & Defenses

Hamon Adepts possess a d8 Hit Die, and they start the game with 40 Hit Points (plus double Constitution and other modifiers). By spending 3 XP the Hamon Adept can gain a Hit Die, increasing their Hit Points accordingly.

They also receive a +2 bonus to Fortitude Defense and Will Defense.

Stat Bonuses

Hamon Adepts receive a +1 bonus to one of the following attributes; Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution.

Increasing these attributes outside of character creation is done at a discount (10 XP per increase instead of 20 XP)

Attack Bonus

Hamon Adepts receive a +1 Attack Bonus.

By spending 5 XP the Hamon Adept can increase their Attack Bonus by +1, to a maximum of +10.

Skill Points

Hamon Adepts receive 1 rank in the following skills at character creation;

  • Acrobatics

  • Awareness

  • Endurance

  • Heal

  • Knowledge (Hamon, History, and Religion)

  • Stealth

Starting Feats

Hamon Adepts receive the following starting feats;

Hamon

Hamon Adepts receive a Hamon Pool, which can be tapped into and spent to benefit themselves. Their Hamon Pool is equal to 2 + Constitution (minimum of 1). This pool is restored to maximum after 8 hours of rest.

In order to take the Hamon Adept class they need a Constitution score and to be able to breathe (thus Constructs and Oozes cannot become Hamon Adepts).

Points can be spent from the Hamon Pool as a free action, granting the Hamon Adept one of the following;

  • Add a number of d6 of Holy damage onto your melee or ranged attack equal to your Constitution (minimum of 1d6).

  • Receive a Dodge bonus to Reflex Defense equal to your Constitution (minimum of +1).

  • Increase your movement speed by a number of squares equal to your Constitution (minimum of 1).

  • Make an extra attack on a full-round attack but at a -5 penalty.

Calm Breathing

Hamon Adepts can, as a full-round action, breathe and focus inward to recover. By spending 5 points from their Hamon Pool, they can recover from a single status effect. They can also recover health, recovering an amount of HP equal to 4d6 + Constitution.
