Assassinate

Your attacks against certain enemies will usually kill them.

EXP Cost: 4 EXP

Benefit(s): Once per encounter, your attack isn't made against Reflex Defense and is instead made against Fortitude Defense. If it succeeds, the target is knocked prone and takes damage as normal. If this attack beats the target's Fortitude Defense by 5 or more, they die. This only functions on attacks which deal damage. Attacks which do not deal damage instead knock the foe down the condition track by 2 steps.

Targets of the assassinate must be living and/or must have vital organs of some kind which would lead to an instant kill. For example, a giant construct with an access panel on its back that shuts it down (kills it) completely is a viable target while a rock golem with no discernible weakness is not.
