Zombie

Creatures turned into what is now shambling corpses made of hanging flesh and sinew that is slowly rotting away while the now undead creature searches for flesh to consume.

Creating a Zombie

Zombie is a template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature (referred to hereafter as the base creature). The zombie retains all of the base creature's original statistics and special abilities unless otherwise noted here.

Intensity: +0.2

Breed: The base creature's breed changes to Undead but retains all of the original sub-breed tags of its base form.

Bonus to Defenses: Along with the Undead's racial bonuses, the base creature gains a +4 bonus to Fortitude Defense.

Special Abilities: Along with the immunities of an Undead, the base creature gains DR 5/Slashing. The base creature also gains a +1 bonus to Strength, and a -1 Dexterity. When creating the zombie, choose if it is mindless (without an Intelligence score) or not. If so, it is unaffected by spells which target Will Defense yet loses the ability to make intelligence-based skill checks and loses all of their current feats.

Natural Attacks: The base creature gains two claws and a bite attack appropriate for their size.

Feast on Flesh (Ex)

When a zombie successfully makes a bite attack, they regain 1d6 points of HP. This can only be activated once a round.

Infecting Bite (Ex)

If a bite attack from the zombie successfully hits and damage is dealt, make an attack against the target's Fortitude Defense. On a successful hit they begin to feel sick and within 1d4+1 minutes they turn into a zombie unless someone makes a successful Heal skill check against the attack roll that bypassed their Fortitude Defense, or alternatively use a healing spell which gets rid of diseases. This is a disease effect.
