MAKHANA KHEER
On our some of the festival days we keep fast and we don't eat cereals , wheat and rice products. That day we make non cereal food. Makhana comes in that category and it is full of calcium. Today we make makhana kheer. As navratra has started .
SERVES 6
TIME TAKEN 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS
Makhana 2 cups [break each makhana into2-3 piece ]
Full cream milk 1 kg
Sugar 1/2 cup ghee 1/2 tbs
METHOD
- Break the makhanas. You can beat the makhana with the rolling pin once or twice ,then it can be done easily.
- Take heavy bottom pan and fry makhana in ghee on slow gas for 2 minutes ,Add milk.
- Cook milk with makhana on high flame for 1 boil only . Sim the gas and cook the milk for 35 - 40 minutes on slow gas .
- It will be little thick ,mash the makhana with a kadchi to make it more tasty .
- Take it off the gas and mix sugar. It will take 5 minutes only . Cool it .
- You can add cut almonds and raisins according to your taste.
