DAHI VADA
This is a north indian style of dahi vada which we relish in parties and with chat wallas. On festival occasions also we can make it . It is very easy to make and if some guest is coming , we can make it in advance and keep in fridge to serve it later.

INGREDIENTS
Urad dal 3/4 cup [black gram split dehusked ]
Moong dal 1/4 cup [yellow moong dal ]
Salt 1 tsp [as per taste ]
Yoghurt 1/2 kg
Sweet chutney 1/2 cup
Green chutney [optional ] 2 tbs , Roasted cummin powder 1 tsp , chat masala 1 tsp , salt as per taste for curd
METHOD
- Soak both the dals for 4 hours after washing them 2-3 times .
- After 4 hours they will soften and double the size .Now grind them in blender with very little water in batches .
- Take it out in vessel and whisk it with hand or ladle for 10 minutes making it soft and fluffy .
- Drop a little with a spoon in bowl of water .If it comes on top of water it is whisked.
- Heat oil in kadai and when it is hot , slowly drop a spoonful of batter in oil and fry on medium flame till golden in colour.
- Drain them on paper and cool them. They will be soft by pressing it . Soak them in enough water for 20 minutes .
- Now whisk the dahi with little water if it is very thick .Add salt.
- In a serving bowl squeeze out the required vadas , pour dahi on it, sprinkle chat masala ,roasted cummin powder.
- Pour 1-2 tsp sweet chutney as required on it . Lastly pour 1 tsp green chutney if you want to add .
- You can add pomegranade seeds and sev too.
Dahi vada is ready to serve.
