PAV BHAJI [ MUMBAI PAO BHAJI RECIPE]
Pav bhaji is a famous street food in Mumbai and so the famous name Bombay Pav Bhaji . It is a combination of mashed potatoes with vegetables and spice and served with buttery pav or bread . This recipe of mine is very easy and tasty and without the pav bhaji masala . Calorie conscious could eat pav bhaji but with a moderate amount of butter. It is a healthy food too as we add lots of vegetables , you can use veggies of your choice . In fact it is the most ordered dish on the menu which is enjoyed by folks of all ages . Pav bhaji requires less effort and cleaning without compromising on the taste .
COOKING TIME 30 minutes SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
Potato 1 cup boiled and mashed [ about 3 potatoes ]
Carrot 1/4 cup cut in small pieces
beans 1/4 cup cut in small pieces
cauliflower or cabbage 1/4 cup cut in small pieces
peas 1 tbs frozen or fresh
Tomato puree 3/4 cup
onion 1/4 cup , garlic 1bs , ginger 1 tsp , green chilli 1 all cut in small pieces
turmeric 1/2 tsp , red chilli pwd 1/2 tsp , dhaniya pwd 1 tsp , salt as taste , kasuri methi 1/2 tsp
Butter 4 tbs , oil 1 bs
pav bhaji buns 1 packet
METHOD / HOW TO MAKE PAV BHAJI
When it is hot add garlic, green chilly and ginger . Roast for 1 minute .
Serve bhaji with buttered roasted buns or bread
