DAL BATI [vedio is at the bottom ]
Dal bati is a rajasthani dish . The authentic dal bati is served with lots of ghee but we can make with less ghee and more tasty . Mostly bati is baked or cooked in gas tandoor and dipped in ghee . Dal can be urad dal , urad with chana , moong, urad, chana arhar mixed also.We can add onion , garlic with tomato in making tadka of dal.
COOKING TIME 45 minutes SERVES 4
INGRDIENTS
Wheat flour 2 cups
Suji 1/2 cup
Milk 1 cup
Urad dal 1 cup , salt , haldi , red chilli powder , ginger grated , tomatoes 2 grated , ghee , oil for frying , cummin seeds , hing ,1potato boiled and grated [ onion garlic cut in small pieces ]
METHOD
For bati take wheat flour . Mix suji , salt red chill i powder . Make the dough mixing milk instead of water . Keep for 15 minutes.
Boil 1 potato and grate it, mix salt in it .
Take dough of roti size , fill with very little potato grated and cover it from all the sides by making it round shape .
Make rest of the balls with the dough with filling of potato grated .
Boil 2-3 glasses of water in open kadai and drop all the wheat balls one by one in it. Boil for 20 minutes on high flame .
Take them out and cool them. You can keep them in fridge and fry them later at the time of serving.
For Dal , soak urad dal for 2 hours . Put in the cooker with salt and haldi and switch off the gas after 1 whistle only
Grate tomatoes and ginger . For tadka in 1 tbs ghee put hing , cummin seeds and red chilli powder , add dal and boil for 2 minutes. If you want to add onion and garlic then cut onion , garlic in small pieces . Add them to the cummin seeds.red chill powderr and fry for 3-4 minutes then add tomatoes and lastly dal .
Add lemon juice to the dal.
Fry bati on high gas till golden brown .In a bowl break each bati a little with hand only and pour 1 tsp ghee over it .
SERVE BATI WITH DAL AND GREEN CHUTNEY AND ENJOY DAL BATI
