EASY URAD DAL [ vedio is at the bottom ]
Whenever we go out for dinner , kali urad dal is a must . This recipe is so easy , quick and tasty that you would like to make it again and again. My kids like it so much that every week we make it with our gas tandoor crisp roti . This recipe is very easy and with less ingredients . It tastes awesome .
COOKING TIME 40 minutes [ 3 hours for soaking in hot water] SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
Urad kali dal 1 cup
Rajma 1 tbs
Chana dal 1 tbs
Tomato 2-3 , onion 1 big , garlic 10-12 cloves , ginger 1' , [ cummin seeds , red chilli pwd , hing , 1tbs ghee ]
METHOD
Soak kali urad dal with rajma and chana dal overnight or 3 hours in hot water.
Mix tomato , onion , garlic and ginger in mixie and make paste without water .
Add this paste to the soaked dal in the pressure cooker with salt and pepper . Steam for 25 minutes,
When the pressure cooker cools down . Open it and mash the dal mixture with a kadchi or hand mixer not the electric one .
If the dal is thick add milk instead of water . Boil for 2 minutes .
Make a tadka of cumminseeds , red chilli pwd ,and hing in 1 tbs ghee and put in dal .
Add butter on top of dal while serving .
