SABUDANA TIKKI [vedio is at the bottom ]
This is a maharashtrian dish . It can be made on fast days too. Sabudana tikki is very crispy and tasty dish. North indians generally make this tikki in navratra days. Mixed with peanuts and potato it gives a crunchy taste.
Cooking time 1/2 hour 3 hours for soaking sabudana
INGREDIENTS
Sabudana 1/2 cup
Potato 2 [boiled ]
Peanuts 1 tbs [ raw ]
Ginger 1' grated , green chilli 1-2 cut in small pieces , salt as taste , oil for frying .
METHOD
- Wash sabudana 2-3 times in water to take out the starch of sabudana . Soak it in water little above the soaked level of sabudana . It will double the size in 3 hours.
- Sieve it in strainer. You can keep it in fridge too for 2 hours , this is optional .
- Fry peanuts without oil in a saucepan till it turns dark brown .Scrap the skin of peanutes and crush it with rollingpin or in mixie.
- Mash boiled potatoes .Mix sabudana , potatoes ,crushed peanuts, green chilli , ginger and salt.
- Make tikkis with the mixture . Heat the oil in kadai.
- When the oil is hot , put tikki in oil and fry on medium gas . You can put 2 at a time . It takes 2-3 minutes to make tikki golden brown .
- Take out on tissue paper and serve it with green chutney .
