MATAR COCKTAIL SAMOSA [ vedio is at the bottom ]
Cocktail samosa is very common snack in our parties and matar samosa is very delicious and tasty . You can fry just once and keep in the freezer for a month and whenever you want to eat , refry . I use maida with little suji for the dough , it keeps the samosa crisp for longer time .
COOKING TIME 45 minutes SERVES 8
INGREDIENTS
Peas [matar] 2 cups
Maida 2 cups , suji 1/3 cup , oil 1/2 cup , salt , oil for frying , red chilli powder , dhaniya powder , pisi saunf , cashewnuts [ cut ] 1 tbs , raisins 1 tbs
METHOD
For matar masala , crush matar in mixie a little . In a pan roast crushed peas for 7-8 minutes on slow gas . Add salt , red chilli powder, dhaniya powder , pisi saunf . Roast for 1 minute more , cool it and add broken cashew nuts and raisins.
For the dough. mix 1/3 suji in 2 cups of maida with salt. Add 1/2 cup oil and mix well . When the mixture becomes coarse by rubbing , add water to make dough . The dough should be soft and keep aside for 15 minutes .
After 15-20 minutes, if the dough is little hard , add water or oil to make roti type dough.
Take little dough and roll it till 4 -5 inch oval shape . Cut the oval shape from middle and 2 semi circle will be made .
Take 1 semi circle and coat the surrounding with water , make the shape of cone by joining the straight side and fill 2 tsp of matar mixture in the cone . Seal the top opening sides of cone , pressing it and turning very little so that it doesn't open .
Make all the raw samosa filled with matar mixture .
Deep fry for 1minute from both the sides and take out . You can deep freeze them in the freezer and refry them when you want to serve . [refry after 2-3 hours when you take out from freezer ]
If you want to serve immediately without keeping in freezer , then deep fry on medium gas for 4-5 minutes till golden brown .
