ATTA PIN WHEEL .
Pin wheels are great party snack .This is a interesting twist on the popular Indian snack samosa . They make mouth watering appetizer or can be served as a chat .Generally samosa and pinwheel are made with maida but this recipe of mine is made with wheat flour so it is a healthy snack . Kids especially like it a lot as it is good to look at and tasty to eat . You can fry and bake too . I have roasted in very little oil . You can freeze them also , for that you roast little and then freeze . At the time of serving , defreeze them roast them again and serve.
COOKING TIME 30 minutes SERVES 4 CUISINE Indian snack
INGREDIENTS
Wheat flour 2 cups
Oil 1 tbs , salt , water
for filling
potato 2-3 big boiled
Peas 1/2 cup , salt , red chilli pwd 1/2 tsp , dhaniya pwd 1 tsp , chat masala 1/2 tsp , oil for roasting
METHOD OF MAKING ATTA PINWHEEL
Take 2 cups atta . Put 1ts oil and salt . Crumble and mix everything .
Add water and knead the dough . Put little oil over it and keep aside for 20 minutes . Cover it .
For the filling , grate the boiled potatoes and boil the peas in a open pan for 5 minutes .
Mix both the things .
Add spices salt , red chili pwd 1/2 tsp , dhaniya pwd 1 tsp , chat masala 1/2 tsp .
Mix everything and mash with a masher .
MAKING PINWHEEL
After 20 minutes , make 2 parts of the dough .
Take 1 part , put little oil and roll into big thin round .
Spread the potato peas mixture by pressing all over it .
When the potato peas mix is spread all round , start rolling from one side tightly .
When it comes to end , put little water on the last part and stick it to the rolled one properly .
Roll it again and again with bare hands so that it does not open .
Now cut the rolled piece in 1/2 ' pieces each .
Press each piece flat and keep aside .
Put 2 tbs oil in a non stick pan .
When it is hot keep 4-5 pieces for roasting ,
Roast for 5-7 minutes on low medium gas from both the sides till golden brown and crisp .
Serve them with green and sweet chutney.

STEP BY STEP OF MAKING ATTA PIN WHEEL
Boil potatoes in a pressure cooker , boil peas in a open pan for 5 minutes .
Take 2 cups wheat flour , pour 1tbs oil and salt . Crumble and mix them well .
Add water to knead the dough . The dough should not be hard or soft , it should be meduim .
Cover it .Keep aside for 20 minutes .
For the filling , grate boiled potatoes and mix boiled peas in it .
Add spices salt , red chilli pwd 1/2 tsp . dhaniya pwd 1 tsp and chat masala 1/2 tsp .
Mix well and mash it with a masher .
After 20 minutes knead the dough again with little oil .
Make 2 parts of the dough .
Roll 1 part thinly into big round .
Spread the aloo peas mix by pressing it to the round .
Start rolling from one side tightly , in the end put little water so that the end part sticks properly to the rolled one.
After sticking just roll it with the hand so that the sticky part do not come open .
Cut the rolled dough into 1/2' pieces .
Press and flatten each piece flat with the palm .
Heat 2 tbs oil in a non stick pan and keep 4-5 pieces in it to roast . Roast on low medium gas till golden brown and crisp from both the sides .They are ready in 5-7 minutes .
Serve them with green chutney , sweet chutney and tomato ketchup .
You can keep them in the freezer after roasting for 1-2 minutes . Reroast them at the time of serving .
You can serve them with a hot cup of tea or any other time of the day .
