Gajar muthia is a steamed healthy snack . In winters we get good quality of carrots . So this is one of the best recipe of carrots which kids also like it . You can steam 3-4 days in advance and keep in the freezer and roast them at the time of serving .
COOKING TIME 30 minutes SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
Carrot 2 cups grated
Wheat flour 1 cup
Besan 1/2 cup
Suji 1/4 cup . ginger green chilli paste 1 tsp , red chilli powder . haldi , oil 1tbs , salt , lemon juice
METHOD
Mix carrot , wheat flour , suji , besan . Add salt , red chilli powder , haldi , ginger , greenchilli paste and 1 tbs oil .
Knead dough mixing everything . For steam either steam in a steamer or in a kadai.
Make shape like thin koftas and coat a small plate with oil . For kadai steaming , put water in kadai and keep a jali in it , put the oil coated plate with the kofta shaped muthias on the jali . Steam for 15-20 minutes on high flame .
After 15-20 minutes check by putting the fork or knife in the muthias , if it comes out clean it is done . Switch off the gas .
For roasting put 2 tbs oil in non stick pan , add 1 tsp sarson and kadi patta . Add 1tsp white til after 1 minute . Roast the muthias on both the sides for 5-6 minutes on slow gas till they are golden in colour .
