Amla Candy Without Boiling / Tasty and Healthy Amla Candy without Cooking
Amla or gooseberry is a excellent source of Vitamin C and Vitamin E , They are rich in antioxidants , which reduces the risk of chronic health conditions like heart disease , diabetes and cancer . That's why we should take good use of it in winter season as it is available plenty in winters . We can make amla chutney and we can take out its juice and drink everyday mixing it with honey or with carrot juice , Today's recipe of amla candy is very simple and with no cooking . So let's start the recipe .
INGREDIENTS
Amla 1/2 kg or 500 gm
sugar 1/2 kg or 500 gm
METHOD OF MAKING AMLA CANDY WITHOUT BOILING OR COOKING
take 1/2 kg amla, wash and wipe them . keep them in a plastic box .
keep this box covered in the freezer of the fridge for 2 days or 48 hours .
take out the plastic box with amla from the freezer after 2 days .
leave the box as it is, to defreeze for 6-7 hours or for overnight .
open the box after 6-7 hours or after over night .
amlas will be soft andyou will be able to take out its slices with the help of a knife easily and remove the seeds .
keep the slices in a big bowl .
add 1/2 kg or 500 gm sugar in the slices .
keep them covered .
after 1 day you will find some liquid sugar in the bowl .
mix the liquid sugar with the amla .
again cover the bowl for 2 more days .
you will find more sugar syrup in the amlas after 2 days .
mix it again and cover for 1 more day .
so you have to keep amla with the sugar for 3 days .
after 3 days sugar is fully dissolved and mixed with amla and more sugar syrup can be seen .
take them out in a chalni so that sugar syrup is drained .
keep the amlas in the chalni for 10 minutes . the sugar syrup can be used in making tea or coffee or milk ,
now spread the amlas on the steel plate .
you can cover the plate with a aluminium foil [ if you have it ] and then spread the amlas over it .
keep the amla in the sun to dry for 2 days .
you have to dry them for 4-5 hours each day.
you do not have to dry them fully , they should be juicy .[ you should take care while keeping them in the sun from crow and squirrel ]
amla candy is ready .
keep them in a box and relish daily
relish amla candy daily .
it tastes like amla murabba .
you can sprinkle black salt and little pisi sugar or just black salt then it becomes more nutritious .
STEP BY STEP OF MAKING EASY TASTY AMLA CANDY WITHOUT COOKING OR BOILING
wash and wipe the amlas .
keep them in a plastic box covered .
keep the plastic box in the freezer of the fridge for 2 days [ 48 hours ]
take the box out from the freezer and leave it over night or for 7-8 hours for defreezing .,
after defreezing the amlas will be soft .
mark and cut slices with the knife . it will be easy to make slices and remove the seeds .
keep the slices in a big bowl .
add 1/2 kg or 500 gm sugar in the amla slices .
keep them covered for 3 days .
after first day sugar leaves some water . mix again .
after second day more sugar syrup will be there , mix again .
after 3 days ,all sugar is dissolved and more sugar syrup is there .
put amla with syrup in a chalni .
all sugar syrup will be drained . you can use this sugar syrup in making tea , coffee or milk .
keep amla for 10 minutes in the chalni and then spread each slice on the thali . you can cover the thali with aluminium foil and then spread , if you have it . otherwise spread on the plain thali .
dry them in the sun for 2 days [ 4-5 hours of sun shine each day ] . [ take care with the birds and squirrel while drying in the sun ]
you do not have to dry them completely , they should be juicy while eating .
after 2 days , you can sprinkle black salt to make them more nutritious . [ you can add black salt and pisi sugar both or just the black salt ]
keep them in a box and enjoy tasty amla candy daily .
