Crispy Methi Vada / Tasty Chana Vada with Methi Leaves
Methi is a healthy winter green veggie which we should cook in different ways to make our daily food tastier and nutritious . Vada is a south Indian snack and it becomes more tasty mixed with methi leaves . The recipe is very simple and easy . Crispy snack with a cup of tea makes the winter days more enjoyble and lively .
COOKING TIME 1/2 hour [ 4 hours for soaking ] SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
Chana dal 1 cup
Methi 1 cup [ washed and cut ]
Onion 1 small onion cut finely
salt as per taste , ginger grated 1' , 1 -2 green chilly , pisi saunf 1/2 tsp , hing
METHOD
soak chana dal in water for 4 hours .
cut onion finely .
wash and cut methi leaves .
after 4 hours , drain the water and seive in a chalni .
put it in the mixie . add grated ginger and green chilly .
pulse the mixie 4-5 times without water to blend the dal coarsely .
take out the coarsely blended dal in a bowl .
add methi leaves and finely cut onion to the chana dal
mix salt , pisi saunf , hing .
mix every thing well with the hand .
make small balls by pressing and make flat shape of vada
heat oil in the kadai .
fry on meduim gas till crisp .
serve with green chutney or sauce .
you can keep them in the fridge after single fry for 15 days . deep fry them after defrosting them .

STEP BY STEP OF MAKING METHI VADA
soak chana dal for 4-5 hours .
cut and wash methi leaves .
cut onion finely .
after soaking , seive dal in a chalni and put in the blender .
add green chilly and grated ginger also .
pulse the dal coarsely 3-4 times without water .
take coarsely blended dal in a bowl .
add methi and onion also .
add salt hing and pisi saunf also
mix well and make shape of vada by pressing .
heat oil in the kadai . put 3-4 vada at a time
fry on meduim gas till crisp .
serve tasty crispy methi vada with green chutney or sauce or sweet chutney .
