Falaael is a middle eastern tasty snack which is kept in pitabread with hummus and then served and relished . Otherwise also you can enjoy it with any chatni . It is very nutritious as it is made with chick pea [ kabuli chana ] .
COOKING TIME 30 minutes [ 8-9 hours for soaking ] SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
Kabuli chana [ chick pea ] 1 cup
Onion 1 , garlic 5-6 cloves , corriander leaves 2 tbs , salt , red chilli pwd , cummin seeds powder , oil for roasting or frying
METHOD
- Soak 1 cup kabuli chana overnight . Take out the water from the soaked kabuli chana in the morning .
- Add 1 onion cut in moderate pieces , 6 garlic peeled , 2 tbs washed corriander leaves to the soaked kabulichana . Make paste adding everything in mixie adding very little water or without water .
- Mix salt , red chilli pwd and cummin seeds powder to the paste . Keep the paste in fridge for 1-2 hours .
- Take out from the fridge and make the shape of tikkis with the paste .
- Deep fry the tikkis in oil or roast them on non stick tawa from both the sides . You can bake them also .
SERVE FALAFEL WITH HUMMUS IN THE PITA BREAD OR AS IT IS WITH ANY CHATNI
