Alameda Regional Creek Trail.

America is one where there is vast land & less population.Recently, I was in Silicon valley in California .It was a short visit to U.S.A. to bless my eldest son on his 50th birthday. Winter was fast approaching. It was October & November. Weather was chilly. But it was not biting cold. I enjoyed it.Everywhere it was green. Oranges, lemons , other fruits & blooming flowers pierced my eyes & won my heart. Flowers & fruits enjoy unchained full freedom in America . Nobody touches them at all, even though they are not fenced. In India flowers are not allowed to be on plants .They are used for religious and cultural events.

Days were becoming shorter & shorter. Sunset used to be between 5.p.m & 5.30 p.m. On some days we won't see either sunrise or sunset at all too.

Winter in California brings rain, which becomes snow in the mountains. The rainy season runs roughly from November through March. On the worst days, rain can make California look more like the rain forest than the Baywatch set.

In 2015 too, I visited California, it was a drought at that time & water was utilised sparingly at every place.

Walks in the morning & evening are my pastime during my retired life. I am of opinion that walking is not only to have fresh air & cover distance, but also it is to forget everything & remaining without botheration. It's to enjoy nature being a part of it also.

Alameda Regional Creek Trail ideally suited my purpose. The trail was accessible from several thoroughfares in Fremont, Union City, and Newark. It was pollution free & noiseless.

Alameda Regional Creek Trail was not far away either from residence of my youngest son or from residence of my eldest son.It was in fact, at a stone throw distance from their residences. On either side of creek there is trail. One trail is tarred & is good for bicycling & walking .The other trail is not tarred .Trails are not even. They have curves .They are above road level & below road level at some places. They are good for walking. There are car parking & resting places nearby. Water in the creek is regulated. Birds from nearby places especially ducks come & take rest on water flowing in the creek. It is a treat to watch. Access to creek is barred to vehicles. It is notified that isn't either for swimming or fishing. Curfew is there for use of trail between 10 p.m. to 5 a. m.

We find people from all walks of life & from various parts of globe on the walk on trail.Pets accompany some amongst them Rules & regulations govern this trail. Pets can be let free without latches too. Of course, number of people that we come across during walk is always moderate .However, during week ends & holidays number of people who walk or cycle usually goes up .People are health conscious.Cool breeze, calm atmosphere smiles & exchange of hi ,byes & decent behavior always attract during walk.We find to be in valley of mountains on the trail. We have beautiful view of surrounding hills.Sunset in the evenings is worth watching & worth recollecting. We come across across farms, livestock & housing colonies by the side of the trail. With greenery all around one often feels as though they are in a village.Bicyclists must wear a helmet, especially y children below age of 18 years compulsorily & must ring a bell or call out to warn other trail users as they approach from behind.

Public places are maintained clean, neat & elegantly here. Not only lawns are mowed periodically but also trees are trimmed from time to time. Vehicles are strictly prohibited on the trail.

"Greatness of America isn't in sky scraping buildings but in natural resources. Alameda Creek is 45 miles long whereas Alameda Creek Trail is spread over southern Alameda County from the mouth of Niles Canyon (in the Niles District of Fremont) westward San Francisco Bay a distance of about 12 miles. Several flyovers are built over creek . Vehicles ply over them. Even a railway track has been built over creek . I came across a masjid & church built side by side near trail on Lowry Road, Union City.

The trail on the south bank provides access to Coyote Hills Regional Park. An additional 3.5-mile-loop trail off the Alameda Creek Trail, into and out of Coyote Hills, and back onto the Alameda Creek Trail, qualifies in distance for marathon runs. For those who want to clock shorter distances along the trail, markers have been installed at quarter-mile intervals.

The Alameda Creek Trail was opened in January 1973. The project was funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, and the East Bay Regional Park District.

America is a country where people from all countries over the globe live. One has freedom to follow any religion there.
