神奈川県産コケ植物チェックリスト(2019年改訂版)で、新たに記載された。

2018年高橋によって、横浜市青葉区恩田町から唯一報告されている。東京都及び神奈川県境に当たる。標高36mの、道路脇の朽ちかけた樹木幹上に生育していた由。｛未｝当種は、通常石灰岩地産とされている。

尚、県絶Iに指定されている、同属の088.11.51 サジバオウゴンゴケLeptodontium pergemmasce　についてもご参照。両種の判別は、難しい。（西村. 1993. オウゴンゴケ属について）

【田中】ギリシャ語でleptoは細い、odontは歯を意味する。
