Sharmila, daughter of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and her husband Anil Kumar, on Monday knocked the doors of the AP High Court to challenge the current regime's decision to withdraw their security cover. They have challenged the action of the authorities in withdrawing their personal security.
The petitioners brought to the notice of the court that one plus one security was provided to each of them from 2004 in view of the threat perception. But the authorities withdrew their security from April 1 without any prior intimation, they pointed out.
Sharmila told the court that ever since her brother Y S Jaganmohan Reddy resigned from the Congress, the authorities started systematically targeting their family members. She urged the court to restore their personal security.
